You know a walk clears your head. A view slows you down. Open water, open sky, and something in you settles.
There's a name for it — biophilia. The idea that we respond to the natural world because we're connected to it.
You don't have to be outside.
Studies show that having something natural to look at can have a physical and mental impact — attention improves, stress eases, people feel calmer. Water and open sky especially.
Even on a wall.
The more real it is, the more you feel it.
You can sink into it — follow the light, find the depth, notice something you missed the time before. It stops being a picture on a wall and starts being a moment you're experiencing, as though it is happening around you rather than in front of you.
I got to experience some real moments. These prints are the closest I could get to sharing them.
